Reservation-based EV charging recommendation concerning charging urgency policy

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are environmental friendly comparing with traditional internal combustion vehicles (ICVs), and have great application potential to achieve green transportation. However, due the battery technology under development, charging time of EVs is still longer than refuelling ICVs. Importantly, CS-Selection scheme (which/where charge) scheduling (when/whether key solutions, for coping long uneven distribution Charging Stations (CSs) in urban city. In this paper, we propose an Urgency First (UFC) policy, which orders via their urgency (calculated by demand remaining parking duration). With underlying UFC further a reservation-based that selects optimal CS minimum trip duration (summation travelling through CS, spent at CS), where would report reservations help anticipate service congestion status CSs future. We conducted simulations Helsinki’s city traffic scenarios. The simulation results show our proposed has advantages improving users quality experience, shortens overall fully charges more before departure deadline.
